[Nmkoder](https://github.com/n00mkrad/nmkoder) by N00MKRAD is a portable Windows GUI that bundles FFmpeg, ffprobe and Av1an for encoding, remuxing and simple analysis. Most people used it as a point-and-click front end for [Av1an](/tools/utilities/av1an/).

> The last release, v1.10.0, is from March 2022, and the repository has had no commits since June 2024. Its bundled encoders and Av1an are years out of date. ## Install and use

Download the 7z archive from the [releases page](https://github.com/n00mkrad/nmkoder/releases), extract it anywhere and run the executable. It needs 64-bit Windows 10 or 11 and .NET Framework 4.7.2.

Drag files onto the window, then work through the tabs:

- **File List** and **Track List**: choose inputs and which tracks to keep, in what order, with language and title.
- **Quick Convert**: encode or copy each stream type with FFmpeg, with resizing, cropping and trimming.
- **AV1AN**: set up an Av1an encode (encoder, workers, quality).
- **Utilities**: bitrate plots, quality metrics, concatenation and copying colour/HDR metadata between files.

Press **Start** when the job is configured.
