av1an-command-gen is a command-line program by Gianni Rosato, written in Zig, that prints an Av1an command for aomenc, SVT-AV1 or rav1e. You give it the source resolution and frame rate, the encoder, a speed and a size target; it fills in tiles, lag-in-frames, CRF and preset. It was aimed at beginners, similar to rAV1ator CLI, and does not look at the source file itself.

Terminal window
av1an-command-gen 1920 1080 24 svt med low

The arguments are width height fps encoder speed bitrate_target, where encoder is aom, svt or rav1e, speed is slower, slow, med, fast or faster, and bitrate_target is lowest, low, med or high. Building it needs Zig 0.11.0 (zig build, output in zig-out/bin/). BSD-3-Clause licensed.
